At the same time the Nugent family established Bird in Hand vineyards, it also began growing olives. Three years later, having perfected natural pickling techniques, Bird in Hand olives and olive oil slipped onto the market, quickly earning for themselves an international reputation as South Australia's finest.
Olive Oil
All Bird in Hand olive oils are extra virgin (<1% in acidity), cold pressed (minimal heat during crushing) and from family groves. This limited edition extra virgin olive oil is the first harvested for the season. The olives are handpicked when green, producing an extremely low yield of superior quality. The result is a wonderfully fresh oil with a penetrating aroma of freshly mown grass and a delicate flavour with a hint of apple. View tasting notes
