Oz Tukka is a small company based at Lake Macquarie on the east coast of Australia.
Australian native plants have been used for thousands of years by Aboriginal people for a wide range of uses including medicinal purposes or as staple foods. With the recent rediscovery of the flavours of the Australian hot dry deserts and lush rainforests, the native plants have found their way into the modern kitchen for everybody to enjoy. The spices are not commonly available and mostly collected from the wild. This also means they are grown without the use of chemicals and have been gently hand harvested.
Owned by husband and wife team Peter Faith and Bente Saugbjerg, Oz Tukka was conceived through a passion for exploring new and exotic food and a huge appreciation of Australian nature.
Realising Australian native spices were excellent spices offering fresh new tastes, but people didn't know how to use them, Peter and Bente started exploring ways to introduce these unique spices to first time users.
The end result was the 5 spices pack with simple recipes included, along with this web site featuring information on how to use the spices, and a range of recipes to suit most tastes.
To compliment cooking with Australian Natives Spices, we have included a range of Australian Macadamia nut oils.
